PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER · JOHN CLARK

Your Remaining Years Plan

A free reading from REMAINING

Scripture & teachingOriginal exercisesReflect · Pray · One Thing

Read at your own pace. Scripture quotations and exercises below are preserved from the master manuscript.

You have already done the work that belongs in this plan. You have assigned responsibilities, considered the people you love, wrestled with enough questions, and chosen practical steps. Now gather those responses in one place. You do not need to invent a more impressive life than the one God has given you. You need a clear, honest way to remember what deserves your attention in this season.

Begin with your Identity Statement from Chapter 3 and your walk with Jesus from Chapter 6. Keep the foundation visible: your acceptance rests on Christ, and the life you seek to live grows from belonging to Him. Read your Remaining Years Commitment again. Let it express your direction without turning it into a promise of perfection or a test of whether God will receive you.

Gather the Work You Have Already Done

Keep together your reflections on time from Chapter 1; what you are leaving behind and carrying forward from Chapter 2; your Identity Statement from Chapter 3; the Entrusted Inventory from Chapter 4; and your Enough Statement from Chapter 5. Add My Walk With Jesus from Chapter 6 and the commitments you made regarding marriage and family in Chapters 7 and 8. If a category does not apply, record that honestly rather than inventing a responsibility you do not have.

Then gather your physical stewardship commitments from Chapter 9, your work transition plan from Chapter 10, your money mission from Chapter 11, your relationship commitments from Chapter 12, your multiplication list from Chapter 13, your testimony from Chapter 14, and your next assignment from Chapter 15. These responses belong together because they draw on the same time, strength, relationships, and resources. A commitment that seems reasonable on its own may need to change when you place it alongside everything else entrusted to you.

Choose What Needs Attention Now

Read the entire plan prayerfully. Notice the responsibilities already requiring steady care, the neglected matters that need an honest response, and the opportunities you can responsibly pursue. You are not being asked to begin every commitment at once. Choose what needs attention now, discuss decisions that affect others with those involved, and seek counsel when your judgment needs help.

The people and responsibilities requiring my attention in this season are:

The commitment I need to begin or renew now is:

The next practical action I can responsibly take is:

Someone with whom I can discuss the plan and seek honest counsel is:

Return to the Plan

Use the review date you have already chosen, or set one now. At that review, ask what you have done, what you have learned, and what has changed in your responsibilities or capacity. Give thanks for the help you have received. Admit where you have neglected a commitment, receive correction, and adjust what no longer fits. Adjusting the plan can be part of faithfulness; the plan serves your walk with Jesus and the people entrusted to your care.

My plan review date: ____________________

One thing I want to bring to that review is:

Keep following Jesus. Remain in His Word, pray, stay connected to His church, and depend on the Holy Spirit as you take the next step. You cannot know what the remaining years will hold. You can trust the Father who has received you through His Son and offer Him the life you have today.
